The weddings I love the most are the ones where there are lots of Love Notes. To me, a love note is not just a written message, but rather it is the references not just to your Beloved, but also to your family and friends. It anchors everyone to your wedding, gives them a sense of ownership and makes them all the more grateful that they are your family. Katie and Sean chose beautiful St. Mary’s Chapel on the grounds of St. Mary’s School where her grandmother attended. (It’s one of my favorite wedding venues in the Carolinas. I am obsessed with its intimacy and quality of light.) Their rockin’ reception followed at Cobblestone Hall just down the street.
And stay tuned to Katie’s bridal session in the next few days. You know how I love a brave bride and Katie definitely embraced that concept! Just wait until you see them. She is spectacular!
From Sean about Katie:
Q. Tell me 3 things you really like about your Beloved.
A. “3 things…hmmmm, that’s a tough one. How about 2? J/K 🙂 More like 100 things, but let me give you 3 good ones for starters:
1. Katie’s carefree spirit, upbeat attitude and positive outlook on life. No matter the situation, she always finds the positive in things…whether that be the unfortunate scenario at hand or some negative person you could be dealing with. She always finds a way to keep a smile on her pretty face.
2. Katie is extremely generous, caring, and thoughtful. She always puts others first before herself and goes out of her way to make sure I am happy. She is truly a selfless individual and loves me unconditionally.
3. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever met…inside and out. I think she thinks I’m joking when I tell her she looks the prettiest right before bed and in the morning…but it is the truth 🙂
4. She is extremely talented, handy, and artistic….3 things I am not and envy.”
Q. Who proposed to who? How long did it take? Were you surprised?
A. “Sean proposed on September 14th while we were at the beach in Delaware visiting our parents. There was nothing out of the ordinary so I was totally suprised! He proposed in my childhood bedroom while our parents were downstairs getting ready for us to all go to dinner. It was the most wonderful weekend of celebrating all together!”
A. “Unconditional love. sweet surprise notes. surprise flowers. surprise gifts – a watch, tickets to the Rockettes!”
A. “The moment where we kiss each other as husband and wife and everyone celebrates b/c the party is sure to follow.”
Many thanks to all my fellow vendors who always make my job such a beautiful joy. And a special thanks to my second photographer, Jessica, who helped capture all the pretty! And if you want to see the whole gallery of images, head over to Katie and Sean’s wedding website! Be sure to sigh the guestbook too!
