Lauren and Joey\u2026darling couple. Darling wedding. These two charming people met at work at Abington Hospital, where Joey is a doctor and Lauren is a nurse. Joey finally worked up the nerve to ask Lauren out after they worked on a case together. Turns out? They worked together outside of work even better than they worked together at work.<\/p>\n

Traci: What is the one thing you love the most about your beloved?<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n
Lauren: He is thoughtful and loving. He takes such good care of me when I need his help.<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n
Joey: The fact that she can put up with me and all of my craziness, day in and day out. She never questions it and she has a unique talent to tolerate it and help me get back to normal.<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n

Lauren and Joey got married at The Millennium Center, one of my favorite places to shoot in Winston-Salem. Their ceremony was upstairs in the old courtroom. This grand space still holds an intimate feeling with glow coming from light provided by all sides of the wood-paneled room. If your ceremony does not allow for flash photography, natural light at your site can be a real game changer in your images. I love the warmth in these photographs.<\/p>\n

After the ceremony? Party time! Everyone headed downstairs to The Speak Easy, another intimate space with a ton of character, like old jail cells and exposed brick. The only thing that could make the space better is a fun group of people. And boy, did Lauren, Joey and all of their guests deliver on that one. They were dancing fools and Joey may just be the best dancer I have ever seen. Their reception included a game of spin the bottle\u2026with the bottle deciding who would be performing a solo dance next. It was hilarious and so much fun.<\/p>\n

Lauren and Joey are super thoughtful people and their personalities came through with the way they took care of their guests throughout the day. A hot dog cart and an ice cream sundae station provided late night refreshments (which these guests needed after all of that dancing!). A table designated for the younger guests included a bouquet of lollipops, games and other candy treats. They also managed to incorporate a Philadelphia-type feeling to the day, which was important because that\u2019s where they are both from.<\/p>\n

Traci: What is the most important thing about your wedding photography?<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n
Joey: That it helps to remind of the feelings of the day.<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n
Lauren: Capturing our day without it being staged. I want to be able to have pictures with all of the people I love.<\/i><\/b><\/address>\n

As always, it\u2019s hard to pick a favorite, but I especially loved one we took during their romance session up on the roof of the Millennium Center. I adore the repetition with the mirrored image, the drama of the veil lifting up against the sky and the cinematic qualities of the shot.<\/p>\n
