For Kristen and Mark&#8217;s engagement session, that extra mile turned into a round trip of over a hundred miles. It was a side trip well worth taking.<\/p>\n<p>Kristen and Mark met while river rafting in Idaho Springs. Even today, their lives revolve around water. Mark is a fireman and Kristen works for a white water rafting organization. It was a must that water be a backdrop for their session. We finally decided that the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, NC was our destination.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of our session, we struck out on the Blue Ridge Parkway. While it was extraordinarily beautiful, it didn&#8217;t feel quite true to Kristen and Mark&#8217;s story. Earlier that day I had shot <a title=\"Pisgah National Forest Bridal Session | Asheville, NC\" href=\"http:\/\/traciarneyphotography.com\/pisgah-national-forest-bridal-session-asheville-nc\/\">another session<\/a> at Pisgah National Forest which was a dream world of creeks, rivers, and waterfalls. I asked if they would be willing to go a little farther and spend some of the precious shooting time in the car. They were and it was well\u00a0worth it! The images in Pisgah National Forest\u00a0speak to how they met, who they are, and are incredibly beautiful. All three of us even braved the frigid temperatures to play and sit in the stream beds for some unique and beautiful portraits. These guys were troopers!<\/p>\n<p>Kristen and Mark, thank you for our little side trek and thank you for braving the ice cold mountain streams.
