Tamsin and Tyler’s Campground Wedding | Asheville, NC

When Tamsin and I first spoke, I was on a trip home from Georgia.  I instantly bonded with this darling girl when I heard her sweet disposition and her familiar English accent.  I lived in England years ago and we chatted about places we both knew among many other things.  Before I knew it, we had easily passed an hour and a half of my long drive home.

Tamsin met Tyler while he was on assignment in the UK in February 2013. It didn’t take long before the devilishly good looking Tyler was madly in love with the beautiful and creative Tamsin.  After a quick but strong courtship, Tamsin found herself throwing a farewell bash and packing her bags for the United States. They created a new home together in Maryland and Tyler proposed on their first anniversary.

There is no way that I could ever sufficiently write about all of the meticulous details that Tamsin and Tyler included in their wedding at The Camp. The Camp is a renovated children’s summer camp outside of Asheville that now serves as a rustic, chic and cozy venue to host events.  Tamsin and Tyler made everyone at their wedding feel included and part of the celebration.  They included their youngest guests in the merriment by laying a blanket out for them to sit on during the ceremony and by having Legos, crayons and games for them to play with at the reception.  They added personal touches, like the ribbons Tamsin hand glued onto every PIMM’s cocktail cup and the gorgeous last-minute fix Tamsin’s mum made to her dress by altering her sleeves. Tamsin spent time finding many of the beautiful details on Etsy, giving the wedding a home-grown feeling. And most importantly, they involved their family and friends in the ceremony: Tamsin’s dad served as the minister and both Tamsin’s bridesmaids and her mom walked her down the aisle. All of these (and so many more) thoughtful particulars made the wedding intimate, deeply personal and relaxed.

The whole weekend held family and friends at its core and the reception was a true portrayal of the good old-fashioned fun that people who genuinely love each other have together. The best part of the day was when Tamsin and Tyler made their exit a water slide. Need I say more about the fun?

I so enjoyed spending the weekend with this lovely couple and their sweet family and friends.  I am thrilled with all of the resulting images…but that didn’t surprise me with Tamsin and Tyler’s easy, relaxed personalities and complete adoration for each other.  It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love the mystery of the silhouette of Tamsin and Tyler. The stone in the background gives the photograph a sense of place and cross in the far left corner completes the image.

Cheers to Tamsin and Tyler!
